Must redeem by January 31, 2020. Worst comptuer product I ever bought Tried to install the software to run this.
Corrupted my hard drive and forced a reboot. Finally got this thing going and then it corrupted the drive I was trying to back up. If I could possibly give this thing a rating lower than 1, I would. Unfortunately, the rating system doesn't allow that. My first and only Seagate purchase. This thing is doing the exact opposite of what it's supposed to do. I implore you to find another product, even if it's more expensive.
At least it will work better than this garbage. Utter Disappointment I don't know what this drive is supposed to be, but it's not what I'd consider a quality product. Let me draw a picture for you. My old 2TB HDD was starting to fail. I bought this to replace it. These were the problems I encountered: 1) 10 to 15 mb/per sec transfer time.
It took me about a full day to transfer a little over 1 tb. Is that normal? 2) Some folders, when opened on the new drive, would cause windows to stall and crash - forcing a reboot.
I did a dskchk and it turned up no anomalies. 3) Transferring a file - within the same harddrive - would take up to 20 minutes. I've never encountered anything so slow. Ultimately I went back to the 2TB drive that was failing over this drive. It's possible that I simply got a fault drive, but I'm pretty upset at the amount of money and (most importantly) time that I spent fumbling with this drive. I'm not sure if I have all the component necessary to do a return.

I would never write a negative product review if I wasn't put to my limit of disappointment.
