Hello, everyone! Gee, it’s certainly been a while. If you read this blog frequently, I would like to apologise for the fact that only 2 posts were made in December.

I did say that I was going to review the desktop version of Club Penguin Island and the Holiday Party. Next time, I shouldn’t say things I won’t keep up with. On the other hand, I just want to sum up that the open beta of PC/Mac Club Penguin Island has been really positive!

To start with, there were some significant bugs such as being invisible to other players but that was all fixed in a patched update. Now, I’d say Club Penguin Island works really well on PC and Mac devices so I would like to give a huge thank you to the Club Penguin Island team for a successful milestone. I still think some features can be optimised for PC and Mac but we may discuss this topic in another post. The Holiday Party was much better than the Halloween Party. The Halloween Party lacked quests and was highly repetitive, but this party delivered more. The decorations are fantastic! The snowfall makes it so much better too.

The festivities were not as grand as I was expecting them to be since they were hardly anything new at all. But, it kept the community engaged as there were prizes to be won throughout the month. I think the system was automatic, but the actual Coins For Change counter was genuine. Did you know that our community has donated over 30 million virtual coins so far?

How amazing is that? I have to give credit to the team for the cutscenes they added with each new festivity. It was epic to see Herbert return with Klutzy and it gave the party more depth. I think this is what distinguishes it from just an “event”. Overall, the 1.8 update has been successful and I think this puts Club Penguin Island in a good position for this year Oh yeah, it’s now 2018!

Happy new year, everyone! 2018 could be a great year for Club Penguin Island. In March, we will be celebrating the 1 year anniversary of the game (it has definitely come a long way since March 29th). I’m sure there will at least be an event for the anniversary although we have the Club Penguin Reunion and So Long CP to look forward to as well! March is going to be a crazy month! It is the 6th of December, which means that the Holiday Party on Club Penguin Island has begun! During this event, the whole island is filled with festive decorations and cheer.

At Island Central, we must prepare for the Coins For Change feast by helping Aunt Arctic and Gary out due to sometechnical difficulties Throughout the month, we will be able to participate in a number of festivities! Each festivity requires a community effort. Once they have been completed, you are rewarded with a holiday gift. Also, there is the exclusive Holiday Shop (next to the feast table) where you can buy special igloo items and party supplies. The candy canes look scrumptious! Of course, the highlight of the Holiday Party is ‘Coins For Change’! If you don’t know what Coins For Change is, it is an event where you can donate your virtual coins to make difference in the world.

For every 100 coins you donate, the Club Penguin Island team donates $5 to help children in need. Their goal is to donate a maximum of $50,000!

Already, over 1,000,000 coins have been donated on the island, which means that the goal has been surpassed within a matter of hours post-launch! Decides to expand the business Especially as we enter the holiday season on Club Penguin Island, the ability to purchase gifts for other players would be something very special. We know that the company responsible for the island’s deliveries is Crate Co. They are based in Mt. Blizzard but don’t appear to do much, currently.

So, when the penguin opens it up, they will be scared by a bunch of bats or some silly string. There are many possibilities that can come with this! These things would come at a small price and the catalogue of these special, seasonal items would constantly rotate as the year progresses.

I know several people who never got the opportunity to try out Club Penguin Island on their mobile device because it wasn’t compatible.

Now, the player base is going to expand which means More friends! More opportunities! More meet-ups!

The best part is that both the mobile and desktop platform is a shared user experience, which means we can connect with everyone regardless of the platform they are using! Club Penguin Island is no longer just an app. It’s beginning to evolve into a game – an online virtual world.

Many are excited about this news and I have, yet, to try it out myself! When I do, I will be hunting for as many bugs as I can (and I advise you do too) so that we can make the user experience incredible after it completes the open beta stage.

The rollout of the 1.8 update on Club Penguin Island has begun. Android users are currently able to download the update so that they can finally create their own igloo and check out the new ‘Olaf’s Frozen Adventure’ and ‘Big Hero 6’ items!

There is also the new Island Live feature (a revamp of the CPI Phone) and some interface adjustments. This is only the tip of the iceberg, however. Starting from the 30th of November, everyone will be able to beta test the new PC and Mac version of Club Penguin Island! This is a huge leap in development and an exciting time for the community. In addition, from December 6th, players will be able to take part in Coins For Change and enjoy the festivities at the Holiday Party! As you can see, this update is huge!

This was a lovely touch to the update and the party preparation reminds me of Club Penguin Now, let’s talk about the exciting stuff IGLOOS! Igloos & Interiors is now officially open to all players. Just waddle over by the Igloo Trams and you will see the shiny storefront straight away.

Igloos & Interiors is another market on Club Penguin Island, but it sells igloos and furniture instead of food! There is a decent range of items available to everyone. However, purchasing a membership will grant you access to a much larger inventory of furniture items – including a large igloo! Fortunately, you don’t have to be that stingy with your coins because the prices are relatively cheap.

That means more coins to be donated to charity – yay! Igloo Trams are now accessible and ready for travel. If it’s been a hard day’s work at Franky’s, you can pop by the trams and instantly be escorted to your own private zone. There are two other ways you can access your igloo too!

Prepare yourself for a serious post about something that has been dividing our community for a while. Whatever is written in this post is merely my opinion. In addition, this is a controversial topic for many people. If you do not agree with me, I would appreciate it if you would respond in a kind manner. I am not here to slam anything or anyone.

I just want to provide some depth to my argument. Here is what this post is all about Should you play Club Penguin Rewritten? Club Penguin Rewritten is a popular Club Penguin Private Server and has no affiliations with Disney Interactive. In summary, it was created to conserve the Club Penguin online virtual world, which was shut down on March 29th, 2017. Club Penguin was over 11 years old before it was closed and it changed many lives. Consequently, its shutdown shocked many people in the community (including ex-players).

Therefore, Club Penguin Rewritten was made to allow the community to continue playing the game. Interestingly, the game adopts an older style from Club Penguin, so it is nostalgic particularly for older players.

Currently, the online virtual world is managed by a group of teenagers and it is non-profitable. Already, over 1 million players have created an account, so it has been a hit for many people.

Despite its popularity, however, this CPPS (Club Penguin Private Server) has attracted a lot of negative attention mainly from the community who play Club Penguin Island (a Disney mobile app that continues the Club Penguin franchise). Is Club Penguin Rewritten legal?

Here is where it gets tricky. Club Penguin Rewritten is supposedly legal.

The game is non-profitable (the team do not make money from it) because they do not host any advertisements on the website. According to the creators “Club Penguin Rewritten is a non-profit re-creation of Disney’s Club Penguin created for educational purposes by teenagers under the age of 18.” (Legal disclaimer, ). I want to bring your attention to where it says “created for educational purposes”. Was Club Penguin Rewritten created for educational purposes? My answer would be no. As I mentioned earlier, Club Penguin Rewritten was created so that people could still play a “re-creation” of Club Penguin. On the other hand, this claim is difficult to object. Club Penguin Rewritten can be seen as educational.

Being a virtual world, the game utilises the chat system well. On the whole, the chat filter is safe which is important for the children who play the game. From experience with Club Penguin, I know that the game is capable of improving social skills online.

In this post, I want to raise the issues of bullying and let you know what you can do to prevent bullying on the island! Similarly, our community was celebrating Bullying Prevention Month in October. Therefore, this post will be very similar to the one I did on unity and bullying prevention.

Regardless, it is always important to make sure that bullying is dealt with the right way online. On Club Penguin Island, I wouldn’t like to believe that such a thing as bullying would exist but it does, unfortunately.

Bullying can be interpreted in many different ways but if it feels like bullying to you, it most likely is bullying. Remember, bullying is repetitive behaviour that intends to physically or emotionally hurt someone. Here are three easy things to keep in mind when you see bullying! While the Club Penguin Island team try their best to make the island as safe as possible (through the filtering of suspicious words and live moderation), it is not guaranteed that you will be satisfied all the time.

Over time, certain players will exploit the chat filter and cleverly word phrases that associate with any malicious behaviour. Whenever you see this happen, the best thing to do would be to report the penguin. It would not be smart to verbally retaliate, even if you intend to encourage others to report the bully; it would just bring more unnecessary attention to the circumstance.
