Hi: I would try manually installing the XP 64 bit ethernet driver from the link below if the driver does not automatically install. That would be the second file listed. To manually install the driver, you will probably have to re-download it, but don't run it. Download and install this free file utility. After you install 7-zip, right click on the Intel driver you downloaded and select the 7-zip option from the list. Select Extract to: (and I let it extract to the name of the file so it is easy to find in the next step). After you have extracted the drivers into a folder, go to the device manager and click on the ethernet controller needing drivers.

Click on the driver tab. Click on Update Driver. Select the Browse my computer for driver software and browse to the driver folder 7-Zip created.
